This web site and the work I do is dedicated to my late brother Ted Hackman.

He was an accomplished machinist, Ham radio operator, pilot and more. He was extremely instrumental in making me the person I am today. He is greatly missed.

 Speak Easy Radios specializes in the repair and restoration of vintage/antique radios. 1920's thru 1940's. We perform complete electronic restorations along with the restoration of the cabinets. Attention is given to great detail in our restorations. We specialize in all model from Atwater Kent to Zenith, Philco, Stromberg Carlson, Airline, Silvertone, Packard Bell and many more.

What We Do

Speak Easy Radios is dedicated to bringing back a piece of history for everyone to enjoy. I will take that old radio that's been sitting in the attic, garage or just somewhere in your home, make it beautiful and sing like a bird again. 

On our restorations we replace all old capacitors and resistors, install New Old Stock (NOS) vacuum tubes, replace all wiring, thoroughly clean the chassis and all major components i.e., tuning condenser, dial face, IF transformer cans etc. and install new power cords. The wood cabinets are completely refinished when necessary.
